Helix Poeticus – Also Known as Coachella Snail

One of the breakout stars of this year’s Coachella 2013 had nothing to do with the musical acts. The carefree, slow-going Helix Poeticus – affectionately dubbed Coachella Snail – was perhaps one of the most photographed features from the festival.

Built on a variable reach forklift, this 80′ long x 30′ tall silver-skinned mollusk inched its way across the 2013 Coachella Polo fields to make fast friends with festival-goers.

One of two major art installations at Coachella 2013, the Mantis Temple & Helix Poeticus.  Poetic Kinetics also created the Coachella recap video, a timelapse video that showed the festival through the eyes of Coachella Snail.
